A 400-year-old palace complex of courtyards, museums and balconies above Lake Pichola.
Built over four centuries by successive Maharanas of Mewar, the City Palace is the largest palace complex in Rajasthan. Its granite and marble wings rise 30 metres above the eastern shore of Lake Pichola.
Inside are mirror-work halls, peacock mosaics, royal artefacts and some of the best views across the lake to the Lake Palace and Jag Mandir.


Best time to visit
Morning (9:30–11 AM) for thinner crowds, or late afternoon before the sunset boat ride.
Plan 2–3 hours for the museum and courtyards, plus an hour if you take the boat ride.
